We were founded in 2017
2017OpenNet was founded based on a clear strategy – to make it easy for network owners and service providers to collaborate using a standardized platform and equal terms for all.
This allows network owners to achieve higher utilization of their networks, while service providers can reach more households and businesses, giving end-customers more choices for their fiber connection. With OpenNet as the intermediary, it's easy for network owners and service providers to engage in many-to-many relationships instead of creating individual models and processes for each new partnership. We call it open access.
We were founded in 2017 and are an independent company owned by one of Denmark’s largest energy groups, Norlys. -
OpenNet grows
2019We’ve been operational since 2019, when we collaborated with a total of 9 network owners and service providers. At that time, OpenNet had nine employees.

We reached 1 million available addresses on the platform
2023We hosted the industry event, OpenMind
In May, we hosted a large partner-facing event, OpenMind. On the day, we gathered all our partners – both network owners and service providers – for an exciting day of professional presentations and plenty of networking opportunities. The program included talks about future network expansion and service providers’ thoughts on development and market needs. We held the event at the AI Innovation House in Vejle, which offered an inspiring setting and ideal location for a successful day.

OpenNet today
2024Today, we have 26 partners, cover more than 1.1 million addresses, and OpenNet is made up of over 20 employees working across different departments. We have launched a new strategic phase to ensure OpenNet’s continued growth journey – both in Denmark and internationally.
